Folks I need some advice- I’m making my first circle skirt see my post on here on circle skirts, and I want to put a large motif on it of a cat.
Yes it might sound a bit crazy to some but poodles and other dogs were all the rage in the 1950′s but as I’m more of a cat person I thought I’d go with a friend of the feline variety.
The material of the skirt is a cotton which is salmon pink, almost terracotta in colour and I’d like animation black cat- perhaps with ball of wool in red or blue ric-rac.
Anyway- here are some I’ve found which I’ll need to tweek and enlarge, which do you think would work the best?

I like the top/first one best as it has a 50s feel about it and I like the tail buf it doesn’t have a ball of wool.Shout if you need any red, pale blue, navy blue or jade green ric rac for your skirt as I have some cards of vintage braid. x
This skirt sounds amazing, shall look forward to seeing a photo when it’s all finished. I think either of the first 2 cats would be great. X
I like the first one but I am going to send you a pic too.
I actually thought you were getting a real one!! I was very excited..
I like the one at the top with the curly tail – it looks very 1950′s
Definitely the top one xx
I am in love with the kitty playing with the butterfly would work really well. Are you buying a transfer or appliqué? I like to add motives to swing skirts. There is a gorgeous 1950′s sewing pattern which has a bird cage and birds fluttering about! x
I think I’m actually painting/stencilling! Appliqué seem a bit too advanced for me at the moment!
PS- got your email! Will reply asap x
