Remember when I went on and on, and on, about capes?
I was on the look out for my dream cape, (see links in preceding sentence) and to be honest I didn’t find it. I’d kind of let it go and would keep my eyes peeled in charity shops and vintage fairs, and of course everyones favourite auction site. As well as scanning repro vintage online sales, vintage clothing swapping groups and other general fashion sales- to no joy.
Then out of the blue today, I came into possession of a cape.
Who else goes to get their hair done and leaves with a Tara Starlet cape? Yep- yours truely.
I was in need of some pampering and a trim so booked myself in with Bethany Jane Davies who is so talented with vintage hair and beauty, she makes it all looks so easy. Bethany also happened to be having a sort out, as most of us do in January and there it was… It had caught my eye earlier on arrival, but when she offered for me to try it on I couldn’t believe my luck!
Its safe to say I love it and snapped it up- I’m giving it a very good home too.
So here is my hair, the Before picture show my hair in its natural unruly state- the second- After being tamed by Bethany’s dexterous fingers. You’ll have seen these already if you follow me on Instagram…
And here is the cape…
I’m really chuffed with it, I now have the chance to wear all those long gloves I keep buying!
Have you made any cheeky purchases this January?

Ohh nice work… Love the fur collar…
And your hair looks fabulous. Not jealous. Much!
