I really must tell you about a little a place I went to recently, just south of Preston it was part of a girls day out with one of my bestest ever freind’s. A Little Birdie Told Me Sew is a shop combining vintage clothing, reworked vintage, craft materials such as trays of buttons and piles vintage fabric.
I’d first heard about this place via Vintage Village‘s newspage and subsequently the the lovely Vicky from Sewabee paid a visit, and my good friend was singing its praises as she’s seen their Facebook page. The shop is the brain child of Donna and Kim of Woodchip Boutique who’ve had stalls on various vintage and craft markets across Manchester with their unique leather bags- the bags which now form part of the stock of the shop.
When we arrived we had the pleasure of Donna’s company who had made some special vegan Rocky Road bars as my friend had been chatting with her on FB. They were amazing! I’ll blog a recipie soon- promise! My friend scored a vintage polka dot play-suit, I didn’t find anything this time but the prices are really reasonable, £10-£15 for a top and £20-£25 for a dress.
You can even hire the sewing machine in the shop and get crafting with all the bits and bobs around you- with Donna or Kin on hand if you get stuck!
We had planned a bit of a road trip and wanted to take in Decades in Blackburn too, which has been featured in loads of vintage style books, and I still havent been. This time my friends car decided to have a paddy which meant calling the AA out.
I know its never dull is it?! Anyway I shall be going there soon and will keep you posted as to what treasures I find. In the meantime…..
